Exciting Capex Improvements at Sipapu Ski & Summer Resort
As we prepare for another unforgettable season at Sipapu Ski & Summer Resort, we’re thrilled to share some of the exciting capital expenditure (Capex) improvements we’ve made. These upgrades are all about enhancing your experience on and off the mountain, from smoother runs to more comfortable accommodations. Here’s a look at what’s new this season:
1. New Signage Across the Resort
One of the first things you’ll notice at Sipapu is the fresh, new signage on buildings across the resort. These updates are not just for aesthetics but also to help you easily navigate the area. Whether you’re heading to the ticket office, rental shop, or grabbing a bite to eat, the new signs will make your visit more seamless.
2. Enhanced Snowmaking Pipeline on Butterfly
We’re excited to announce that Butterfly, one of our most popular trails, will now have enhanced snowmaking capabilities thanks to a new pipeline. This upgrade will allow us to open the trail earlier in the season and maintain a more consistent snowpack throughout the winter. Not to mention making it a lot easier for our snowmaking heros to make snow on this fabulous run. Expect even better conditions on Butterfly, making it a must-ride trail for all levels of skiers and snowboarders.
3. Lift 3’s Rebuilt Engine – Now with a Shiny Blue Look
Our Lift 3 engine has received a significant breath of new life this summer with a full rebuild of the engine. The improved engine will ensure smoother, more reliable rides to keep you moving up the mountain with ease. Enjoy this classic lift while you can as a big announcement is coming!
4. Refurbished Snowcat and new to us snowcat for Enhanced Grooming
To keep our slopes in pristine condition, we’ve refurbished our yellow BR 350 snowcat and purchased an additional BR 350 which will allow us to deliver enhanced grooming across the mountain.
5. Cabin & Hotel Upgrades – New Windows and Flooring
We’ve also made significant upgrades to our on-site lodging. The duplexes will be fitted with new windows and floors, ensuring a more comfortable and modern stay for our guests. Additionally, the hotel will boast new flooring, giving it a fresh, updated look and making your stay cozier after a long day on the slopes.
6. Cafe Carpet
Our beloved cafe is getting an upgrade with new carpeting. Last year featured a bright new New Mexico-themed repaint on the walls, plus a gallery of Sipapu signs, and we’re excited to add new flooring to the Riverside Cafe.
7. New Rental Shop Equipment
Each year we invest heavily in our rental shop equipment. This years purchase includes new Alpina Ski boots, Burton Snowboard boots, Elan Alpine Skis, Never Summer Snowboards, 5 new ski bikes and 5 new Sno-go’s. It’s going to be a great season!
